College of HEST Research and Outreach
Mission of what HEST Research and Outreach is. provides information for faculty on getting and managing grants, as well as information on research and data of interest to parents, teachers, school superintendents, faculty researchers, and anyone attentive to public education in New Mexico.
The Center for Research and Budgeting staff assists with proposal submission (pre-award)–particularly with budget and submission packet preparation and technical editing-and with account set-up and monitoring for awards made to the College of Education (post-award). The Center provides oversight for the College’s unrestricted, restricted, and legislative funds. The mission of the office is to provide competent and timely support to all College faculty and staff; to maintain positive working relationships with other offices on campus such as the Office of Grants and Contracts, Sponsored Programs Accounting, Human Resources, and Accounts Payable; and to maintain appropriate records to ensure the College’s financial integrity in case of an audit of externally granted funds.
Finally, we provide guides to grant writing resources that include the latest public education data, funding sources, and grant templates to help you get started in writing your own successful grant proposal.
Mission
The mission of the center is to ensure that the College of Education remains connected to the needs of preK-20 education, health promotion, clinical service, and community development. We strive to do so by providing the latest research and information in support of the land grant and Hispanic-serving mission of the University.
